Hagane Body

The Hagane Body is an all metal body with high rigidity and virtually eliminates body flex. The Hagane Body's stiffness and impact resistance allow all the angler's actions to be turned into pure cranking power.

Hagane Gears

The HAGANE Gear is at the very heart of the reel with its amazing strength and durability. With the application of state-of-the-art technologies, Shimano Hagane Gears give you the long-lasting smoothness - Same smoothness and pleasure that you feel when you first use a reel, over and over again. No cutting work is applied to the teeth of the drive gear. Instead the entire surface is calculated in minute detail by special 3D design and then formed by Shimano's cold forging technology.

X-Ship

X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads.

Super Stopper II

Super Stopper II anti-reverse uses a one-way roller bearing that provides the angler with instant hook setting power. No more drop back waiting for the anti-reverse cam to engage.

S A-RB Bearings

Shimano treats is bearings with a special antirust process to make A-RB bearings. To further improve them, Shimano puts shields on both sides of the bearings that reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearing's rotation.

Cold Forged Aluminum Spool

Cold Forged spools provide increased strength and durability over diecast aluminum or graphite spools.

Propulsion Line Management System

The Propulsion Line Management System is achieved with a new Propulsion spool lip design that was developed through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations. The new spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming.

Dyna-Balance

By using computer balancing, an approach similar to car tire balancing, the rotor weight is redistribute to create smooth rotation and eliminate vibrations. This feature eliminates wobble during the retrieve to enhance sensitivity and smoothness.

Power Roller II

Power Roller's special grooved design assures the line will be wrapped on the spool to minimize unwanted loops and twists during the cast and retrieve process. Line twist arising from repeated casting and retrieving is reduced by as much as 50% on with the Power Roller line twist reduction system.
